The Villa Academy Treehouse Classrooms

The school’s Outdoor Learning Initiative identified the value of place-based alternate learning experiences beyond the physical confines of four walls and a ceiling. The students identified the ideal physical rendition of that concept to be a treehouse. We designed two “treehouse” classrooms connected by a bridge that avoids doing harm to the exceptional trees they encompass.
