Madrona Tudor

This stately brick 1929 Tudor with Lake Washington view was too compartmentalized inside, and with the steeply pitched roof, didn't allow for full use of the upper floor. A new dormer in wood mimics the existing brick gable and houses a loft above the Master Suite with views to the lake. The challenge was to make the dormer addition look cohesive and to not disrupt the existing brickwork which would have taken away character.
