Kirkland House

Location: Kirkland, WA
Services: Architecture, Interior Design, Permitting
Size: 3000 sq/ft
This project became a reinvention of a 1950's era 'ranch' style house with good bones but a stifling floor plan and uninspiring presence. The scope of the project was to add a second floor living room and balcony to capture Lake Washington views, remodel the kitchen, dining, living, and entry on the main floor and overall to open the rooms up to each other in plan and volume. In the completed 3,000sf house, 750sf of space was new, about 800sf remodeled and a fresh palate of exterior materials and landscaping was introduced to give the look and feel of an entirely new house.
