Dram Shop | Central Missoula

In the design of the second 3,500 SF Dram Shop establishment, the concealed architectural character of a humble one-story commercial structure was revealed through uncovering massive glue-laminated beams, manufactured roof trusses, and a freshly dyed and polished concrete floor. Rich mahogany surfaces and stainless cable railings offer a nod to the local yachting community on Flathead Lake. Outdoor seating below salvaged spinnaker sailcloth and surrounded by native landscaping was reclaimed from surplus parking paving. A system of modular storage and merchandising was designed for easy assembly by the proprietor’s young family latent with possibilities for future adaptations. Additional storefront glazing was added to allow the sun setting between Rocky Mountain peaks to join in happy hour festivities on a nightly basis.
